Hello all:

I've been trying to set up a cd-rom on an old 386, 66 mhz. When I use a boot disk, it works fine, drivers installed and functioning. The problem seems to be in the BIOS: no AUTO-function, so I've set it to None. Would setting the jumpers to slave do the trick?

If it works from the boot disk and not from the hard drive boot, then the drivers are not installed in config.sys and autoexc.bat. In Win3x you have to manually install the CD drivers.

sorry, should have specified. I've installed the drivers in config and autoexec. When booting from the hard drive, I get the mscdex message, number of drives: 1. The cd-rom light flashes, but no access via the assigned letter. Still, thanks
