Specs: Windows 10
I can't get any sound from PC. Every time I attempt to play something an error message says can't find an audio device on pc.

Always worked until I unplugged my ear phones during a recording being played.

I doubt plugging in phones would cause that error message - most likely coincidence.

This probably won't help but worth trying as it's easy:
Turn off computer and remove power cord. Remove main battery too if a laptop (seems like it isn't). Before re-assembling hold Power Off/On button in for about 20 seconds to discharge the motherboard components.

At odd times the above can unstick things. Assuming it doesn't help go to Device Manager and see if any errors are showing under "Sound, video and game controllers". Errors here usually have yellow icons.

I assume the problem was not after an upgrade to Windows 10.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Normally when unplugging the earphones would the sound
quickly (less than a second) switch to the regular speakers?
But this time you pulled the plug out and there was silence?
And you plugged the earphones back in but they're now silent, too?
