I just bought these Zalman 5.1 headphones...i installed fresh drivers(from creative site) for my creative sound-blaster live 5.1 X-Gamer...thing is that i CAN'T get 5.1 sound because this is a grey area in my sound options...i can't select it....i can't select it in Windows media Player, and i can't select it with my MSI DVD software....the only thing i get is Dolby surround sound. Help would be greatly appreciated Thanks!!!
When you say Dobly surround sound do you mean the simulated surround in Dolby Pro Logic?
What source are you listening to and does it actually have a Dolby Digital 5.1 or DTS 5.1 mix? You won't be able to decode true DVD audio with that card.

I meant Dolby Surround compatible...no pro logic in there. I tested it on the movie "Se7en" which offers me the possiblility of Dolby EX 5.1 or DTS ES Discreet 6.1. The one i used was Dolby EX 5.1....i had no sound at all with the 2nd one. I also get no choice of selecting 5.1 with "Ice Age" coded for 5.1.........great sound but no 5.1 in either movie.

Summary: Since your onboard sound probably doesn't have 5.1 jacks, you'll have to map the center and rear channels to the Mic and Line in ports. I'm not sure if the Nvidia drivers will let you do that, I know ...
