Comment:

I just put my system together but I can't get into BIOS. When it starts up, it POSTS and gets down to:

"Initialising USB Controllers...Done

1024MB OK"

.....and just freezes at this point.

It also recognises my CPU.

Any ideas?

Make sure the jumpers on your hard drive and CD drive are set correctly and check their cables also.

Try disconnecting all of your hard drives - if you get the 'press F1' prompt which gets you into the BIOS then you have a hard drive problem - either bad cabling/jumpers or a bad drive.

I've tried disconnecting all optical drives, my hard drive, I've tried different RAM and Ive cleared CMOS but I'm still getting nowhere. What's happening is, when I startup, if i hold down/press delete it starts to POST. It picks up on the CPU, the chipset, etc and then when it gets to RAM it says "1024MB...OK" and it freezes up after that. Starting to run out of ideas
