Specs: Windows XP
So the other day I tried to install a fresh copy of Windows XP on my desktop, and when the blue setup screen pops up, it says that there is no harddrive detected and that the computer is going to reboot. The Hard drive is detected in the BIOS which is the weird thing. I cannot get to the splash screen or anything, so I can't make a bootable cd or anything to update BIOS or what not. I also have no floppy drive. PLEASE HELP!!! Specs are as follows... Also, I think I got the right model for the HDD, honestly I'm tired of disassembling it and so on. If I really need to find out what model, tell me so.

A7N8X2 Mobo
AMD Athlon 2400
2 Gb Ram ( 1Gb, 512, 512 )
Ati 9800 Radeon GPU
Western Digital 80GB

If the hard drive is SATA, then you need to ensure that BIOS states IDE Mode for the SATA Controller

The BIOS that I have use an IDE HDD auto-detection, so I can't really make the computer distinguish it manually as an IDE or SATA. Any other thoughts?
