Lately when I am just working on the comp I will try to click and drag and it won't do it. For Example, if I want to select a number of files in a folder it won't let me click and drag over them to select them like normal, or if I want to click a file and drag it into another folder it will loose it halfway and drop it where ever it lands. Sometimes when I press the CTRL button it makes it work again, but not always it seems... any idea what's going on?

I don't know what this is but sure as heck it isn't a hardware problem, unless its the mouse itself. More likely it is some software glitch.

Are you holding the left mouse button down or just clicking and dragging? Those are features of the Mouse software. You may need to reinstall the software or at least check to see how you have the buttons assigned.

Just the normal way, like in Photoshop/paint, I will click to draw a line and normally you hold down the left button and just drag... but when I try it just puts a dot and thats it. Yet if I click the CTRL button and let it go, and go back to clicking and dragging.. it works. It just happened lately and happens from time to time. And sometimes when I click once, it will think it's a double click. At first I thought it was hardware because of that, but if it was I guess the CTRL button wouldn't effect it like it does.

Makes me think your left click mouse button might be playing up. Have you another one you can try?
