Back in Feb I succeeded in backing up my 80 gig WD hard drive to a new Maxtor Personal Storage 3100 250 gig hard drive with USB 2 connection using The Norton Ghost 2003 on my SystemWorks 2003 professional disk. Now I can't remember the tricks I used to get over the problems that you get rebooting in MSDos in the Ghost Backup process. The boot always stops after posting a setup line that says: IOMEGA ASAPI USB EHCI 1.0 V.13 09 May 2003. If I press F8 and do a step by step boot, I get further and sometimes af far as the screen for Ghost but that disappears and I get a general protection fault message that starts: ABORT 36000. Can you help me figure how to do the backup? By the way, I have used both the LiveUpdate feature and Symantec's tech support to upgrade to the latest version of Ghost which is supposed to remedy incompatibilities with USB2 Hard drives. I also have disconnected all external printers and modems that connect by USB or Firewire so the only external drive I have is the backup drive. I also disabled all anti spyware and virus protection and started with only a barebones set of stuff running. Nothing has worked but I have the backup of last Feb on the drive to show that IT CAN BE DONE. Thanks
