Hey,
I tried to transfer files from my home computer (WinXP) to my office one (Win2000) using a USB memory stick. However, when I plug it into my office computer and try to access it, I get the message "Can't find device! Please re-plug the device". I tried this, obviously, and it didn't help. Neither did rebooting. It shouldn't be a driver problem either, because this model is supposed to work on both Windows XP and 2000 without having to install any drivers. Why could this be? The last time I was using it on my home computer it was working fine.

Could be that the Admin of your Office network have set parameters to prevent the installation of USB devices. Check with your Administrator.

Good post Stuart!
I administer a large network for a major bank and for all users we disable USB, floppy drive & CD Rom.
Ain't nobody going to upload anything to OUR desktops!

Hello guys !
I've seen the messages. I have the following problem, when a user try to use his stick, it shows a windows that needs administrator rights to install the device. I want this thing to be removed or somehow to solve the problem.
I am also a administrator. My network has a bunch of computer that uses XP Pro, SP 1, I'va recently installed them. And since then I have this problem. Before the installation all things were ok, every user didn't need my admin rights.
Thanks in advance.

If this is a new question, start a new thread. Posting at the end of someone else's question just causes confusion.
Bob:
You may have heard recently of the attempted robbery of £255 million pounds from a Japanese Bank in London. The thieves managed to get a key logger onto the banks computers. It was spotted by the banks security systems and a sting was arranged which caught the thieves.
Thats all it takes, an unprotected USB port and a corrupt employee and anything can happen. It would have been better if the key logger was blocked at the outset.
