Can't access some data

Specs: Windows XP, AMD quadcore 2.5ghz
I recently did a new build with a new hd, new copies of XP, etc. Once everything was up and running, I installed my old HD (that still has windows installed on it, but it's not the primary boot drive) so I could transfer over all my pictures, cookies, videos, etc... Once I got everything over I was going to wipe it and use it as a back up.

Wouldn't you know it, 4 out of 5 of the folders I want I can't gain access to. On top of that, the 4 out of 5 folders are appear to be empty. I know for certain that one folder has over 70gb of data, one has at least 15gb of data, and rest have minute amounts as they house my cookies and bookmarks.

The error message I get when I double click on each it says "Blah blah folder is not accessible. Access is denied"

If I try and copy and paste it says "Can not copy or replace "Ponies" Access is denied. Make sure the disk is not full of write-protected and that the file is not currently in use."

I'm really confused as to why it's only affecting these certain folders and not the rest.

The folders I can't get into are Cookies, Desktop, Favorites, and My Videos. I was able to transfer over all of my MyDocuments folder except for my video folder.

As per usual, any and all help is greatly appreciated!

Also, I just found this article on Microsoft. Going to try it once my chkdsk is complete.

This would make sense because my old version is XP Home, and my new version is XP Pro.
