can't access BIOS

Bankerdude80 January 30, 2009 at 19:23:42
Specs: Windows XP
I have an old Dell Dimension 2350 that freezes up when I start the unit. All I get is a Big Blue Screen that says
"Dimension 2350"
Nothing after that. I've tried accessing the BIOS by pressing the F2 key as well as DEL key. Nothing. It seems its not recognizing any key inputs. Anyone have any ideas what might be the problem?

Get the manuals at dell.

Are you sure the F2 is the bios key?

Sometimes older motherboards had a fuse on the keyboard. If you plugged it in with power on you could have blown the fuse. It might be labled F1 or R1 and may not look like a fuse at all. Almost always near the keyboard connector.

Try different keyboard.

Reset bios by removing the cmos battery.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10
