Solved Canon Pixma MX895 Printer Problem

Specs: Macintosh

I have the Canon Pixma MX895 All-In-One Printer/Scanner/Copy/Fax…
Last night I was printing a photograph when I heard the printer stop, as I looked at the machine I saw the power and back-lit keys cut out/go off… I then proceeded to press the power button and nothing happened, I knew that there was not a problem with the electricity supply as my iMac and all other electrical items were still on and working. I then changed the fuse and when I plugged the machine back in the LCD display and the back-light behind the function keys all lit up and remained alight… however, when I tried to operate the machine to continue printing, no matter which key I pressed not a single thing happened, I could not even turn the printer of using the on/off button and the only way I can turn it off is to unplug the machine. I’ve also tried deleting the printer and drivers from my iMac and reinstalling the drivers etc… Now my Mac is unable to find/locate the printer wirelessly… when plugged in the machine does come on as before, in that the power and back-lights come on, yet again as before when function keys are pressed nothing happens. As it’s getting power, I’m obviously hoping that there is not a lot wrong with the machine… I’ve spoken to Canon and like so many companies they obviously never try and help, yet offer their over priced repair services… for what they and other repair companies are asking, I’d be better off buying a new printer, which I also cant afford at present. Does anyone out there have any idea what the problem is? All/any help would be gratefully appreciated! Thanks! James

Not that this really helps matters much, but apparently Canon has a big problem with several models of printers with similar problems as yours...
