My Canon Pixma MP830 Inkjet printer used to print ok under Vista. Now I get error message "Port in use. Please wait". To get printed output, I have to reboot. How can I fix problem?

USB devices may not work correctly when they're connected to certain USB ports, e.g. ports in a hub or on the front of a desktop case. See response 3 in this: http://www.computing.net/answers/wi...
When a printing task has failed, you have to click on the printer icon in the task bar lower right and delete the failed task, then the next printing task should work fine.

Thanks for your reply. My printer was plugged into the front USB port. However, it turns out that Vista tries to send USB printer output to a file instead of a USB port. I had to go to the printer's properties, then the port tab and reassign the output to go to the USB port. Apparently one of the Vista updates changed the port selection when it was installed.
