Is this a new problem?

Did the printer work under this installation of Windows?

Did you just install/re-install the printer?

Do you have the disks that came with it?

It has been like this for a while, the printer still functions without the display screen, but we can't get the display to work. We changed the computer about two years ago, it happened round about the change

Definitely try reinstalling the software that came with the printer. Or better yet, check on canon's website to see if they have newer versions of the drivers for your version of windows. If that doesn't work, your only option is to contact the manufacturer and have them fix it, so long as it is still under warranty (although if it is over 2 years old, probably not). Other than that, you are probably out of luck.

You didn't answer if you have the installation disk for the All in One printer.

All the drivers and software are available for download at the link below. You should disconnect the printer, remove all software from programs and features, delete any Canon folders in Windows programs, then reboot.

Start installing and when you are prompted to, connect and turn on the printer. Then follow the on screen prompts.

If the display on the printer itself isn't working, then it has nothing to do with your computer or installing Windows drivers. Your display has gone bad and will need to be serviced by Canon.
