|Your printer has two cartridges that have integral print heads in them.|
Remove the cartridges, dab warm water on a wad of kleenex or toilet tissue on the print head , wipe off any dried ink, then dab a wad of dry kleenex or toilet tissue on the print head many times until you can see all the colors or the black easily makes a reasonably sized ink blot right away.
Try the cartridges.
If that doesn't help....
You could try searching the web for "printer test pages", or similar, e.g.on ink refilling related web sites, where you can print something that uses a lot of ink , making more ink flow through the print heads than when you run the cartridge cleaning cycle.
If that doesn't help, there are troubleshooting instructions on the web, e.g.on ink refilling related web sites.
If that doesn't help, you need (a) replacement cartridge(s).
You don't necessarily need to buy new Canon ones.
Local places that refill cartridges know all the tricks and may be able to get them to work properly, or you can order the same on the web, for about half the price of a new Canon one,
or there are often new clone cartridges available locally or on the web for a lot less than the Canon ones.
