Cannot Explore Burned DVDs

August 15, 2010 at 14:37:54
Specs: Windows XP Professional SP3 here's my problem:

I can't explore burned DVDs on my machine. I can watch movies with VLC or any other movie player/media center, but when I tried to explore a DVD that I have files saved on I can't view any of them.

I know the disc works as I've used it before, and every time I put it in it asks what I want to do with it (explore it, play it in Windows Media etc.), but it WILL NOT let me explore it.

"every time I put it in it asks what I want to do with it"

Cancel out of it, go to My Computer, right click on the drive with the disc in it, then click Explore

I did that, I know how to get to my explorer window....when I do it's completely blank

I have a decently advanced understanding of the windows OS...
I just can't for the life of me figure this out...

Then obviously your "understanding of the windows OS" isn't as "decently advanced" as you're giving yourself credit for.

I'm not sitting here telling you I know every system file in and out, what I'm telling you is that if I have a problem, I can usually fix it...this is an exception.

Now I would appreciate constructive answers only, thanks.
