hi i've got a problem with my refresh rate.... when i go into monitor it says "Default Monitor" and the "properties" box is greyed out.... when i click on refresh rate i can't change it from "use hardware default setting". Can anyone help please?
extra info: in the adapter information it says "unavaliable"
I believe the settings are a function of the graphics adaptor rather than the monitor. What kind of display adaptor do you have and are the correct drivers installed for it?
I used to have a signature but it disappeared and I just couldn't be bothered writing another so please feel free to ingore this.
Get SIW utility to determine what graphics you have. Did you recently reinstall WinXP? If so, you need to install all the drivers for the MBoard and graphics.
what you need to do is change the Monitor from default monitor to something more specific like the correct make and model or something like Plug and Play monitor.go to the Monitor in Device Manager and tell it to update the driver, if it cant find anything better go for the Instal from list option , then the don't search option and select yourself.
