hello all.
i have used nero 8 and imgburn and cannot burn vob movie files at 2.4x speed.i am using a dvd-rw disc 4x max speed but i need to burn at 2.4 speed the dvd rom drive is a new one but it always reverts back to 4x speed no matter how many times i put it to 2.4x. i did read about someone who said the new drives will not let you burn lower than 4x is this true and if so can you tell me if it is possible to get it to stay on 2.4x. thanks i did flash the drive with newer firmware but still the same problem.

A couple of things. First off your drive is not a DVDrom. It is a rewriter drive.

Why is it necessary to run the speed slower than 4x? Does the product fail to burn correctly at 4x?

Under options for the burner drive (DVDrom), look to see that smart burn is checked. If so, there is no need to slow the drive down because it is verifying the data, so burn should be good.
