And of course i don't want to format it has all my pictures games music ect.Its stating that its running on raw system. In disk management it says (k:) 76.69GB Healthy (Active).
but when i go into my computer and right click it and go to properties it says used space 0 bytes, free space 0 bytes.how can that be? There is over 4,000 pictures and 5,000 songs i need to get this data back any ideas? Please help me
Thank you so much

When you boot up, check during POST or in the BIOS if your drive is correctly detected. If you see random characters, check the jumper, it's not set correctly. If the drive is detected correctly, then it's time to look at an alternative. Look up Hiren's Boot CD and download it. Once you have it burnt to a CD, boot to it. You'll find some interesting software on it. There's one called Prosoft Data Rescue. I've used it in the past to recover data from a dying drive. You may need to run Hard Drive Regenerator before hard to regenerate readable data on the drive from bad sectors.

Which is it? Is the hard drive from work the Master or the Slave? You state both.
Put your personal hard drive back as the Master and connect the drive from work as the slave.
What interface are each of these drives? IDE or SATA?

Well, I the work is master and the personal is a slave i want to keep the work as the master.
200 gb ata

We need more clarifications.
Rereading your post it looks like you are using the work comp with its hdd as master and your hdd as slave. correct ? If correct, does your hdd still work in your comp ?
What OS is installed on your hdd?
IS the file system FAT32 or NTFS ?
