So I was messing around with an airsoft gun, and being retarded, thought the gun was unloaded, squeezed the trigger and to my surprise, it shot...I looked around, and relize that it hit my Samsung 912n mointor. I was wondering if anyone here that knows a lot about LCD mointors thinks its possible to get this fixed for cheap, or is should I just get a new one. And if anyone knows anything about the warrenty on the 912n, do you think I can send this into them to get it fixed, for a fee offcourse, or maybe I can somehow pass it off as a malfunction....But any help would be appreciated.

Here are some picturs of the Damage

Hey man, I can't view the photos of your Monitor. It asks for the passwords, from the link that you provided.

I was able to view them... Thats some pretty bad damage. You might as well just get a new one.. as to fix it.. they would have to replace the whole screen.

Not sure if warranty will cover that though... but I think they will notice that there was some foul play involved instead of a malfuntion.

Hi,

Both of the URL's go to a web site that asks for log in names & passwords.

I believe this is a photograph transfer web site, for anyone to view the pictures they need to be somewhere where we con't need a password.

I did want to see this image.

How or why ?????

Uh, that loooks FUBARed.

There is no way you are going to trick them to replace the LCD in waranty. It's obviously it was hit with an hard object.

Sorry.

You cracked the actual screen. Take a look at howstuffworks.com on the "How LCD work" to understand how an LCD is made.

Dunno, probably yes. If you are technical inclined you could search on ebay for an exact unit but with an electric problem. As long as the actual screen in in perfect condition you could swap them..

Be warned that you could end up with two FUBARed LCD's ;)

My recomandation is to buy yourself another monitor and NEVER play with weapons (even if you think it isn't loaded)

Ghimpe,
Haha, thanks for the advice, still mad at that gun! Well I managed to find an old 17 inch samsung that my friends throwing away(says it wont turn on, although the power light does)So I took it apart, and turns out the brown ribbon cord is ripped/torn from the actually lcd(I think that cord is called a Tab Driver? correct me if I'm wrong)Anyone know if its possible to fix this "Tab Driver" thing for cheap professionally...or if I can do it myself...I really need a new monitor and this is the best thing I can come up for now, atleast untill I finish school and get a job.

Look for the same cable (the same numbers of wires and the same connectors) at electronic/computer stores. Don't mind to ask the technicians if they have a spare cable, they might spare one from an dead LCD. You never know..

PS: it ain't the gun's fault :P

GooD LucK!
