When hard drives are manufactured there is extra reserve capacity built in. When a sector is identified with a problem, the drive replaces it with a reserve. Only after all the reserve are used up do you even know this is happening.

So, by this time the hard drive is failing and undependable. If the hard drive is under warranty then contact the manufacturer for RMA.

The point is that even if the program you ask about works, the drive will continue to deteriorate and you will lose data.
