hey all wonder if you can help i can not get on to the desktop on my laptop as i get a blue screen saying registry error im trying to reinstall a fresh windows but as i am in the process of doing it from the disk i get the blue screen saying REGISTRY_ ERROR when searching for the existing windows so i am abit stuck is there anything i can do thanks in advance

Did you try system restore from the disk?

would that be the same as repairing windows ? if so ive tried that but it locks up and freezes

Sorry was afk. Ok didn't realize this was 7 was thinking xp. At boot up try hitting f8. Start up recovery isn't system restore. With f8 try safe mode first.
