Contact TOSHIBA and be prepared to prove ownership of the LAPTOP.

A BIOS password is a security feature to combat the theft of laptops. By design it is very difficult to remove without knowing the existing password. If it were otherwise the password would serve no useful purpose.

Never buy a used computer without being provided with all necessary passwords. Never assume this.

"I BOUGHT IT USED"

You didn't think to check the laptop out prior to paying?

Take it back to the person you bought it from.

Doesn't sound like a BIOS password anyway. Sounds like a hard drive password. You only need a BIOS password to enter the BIOS to make changes.

Either way, Toshiba is the only place to help you. If you didn't steal it then contact them.

It never ceases to amaze me how many people will buy a used laptop without first checking that it is in good working order before parting with any cash. It would seem an obvious thing to do.

The only conclusion I can draw is that at the time they acquired the laptop, they were in no position to checks on its serviceability.
