Specs: Windows 7, 4GB
I am currently using an Acer Aspire 5739 which is has the following RAM settings:

4 GB / 4 GB (max.)
DDR3 SDRAM - 1066 MHz
SO DIMM 204-pins
2 x 2 GB

And I'm waiting for my new HP EliteBook 8560p to arrive in the mail which has these RAM settings:

4 GB / 16 GB (max.)
DDR3 SDRAM - 1333 MHz
SO DIMM 204-pins

My question is if I can remove the RAM from my Acer and use it for my new HP. I don't know if this is obvious in any direction, but answers would be very appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

It will force all the RAM to run at the slower speed, but it should work. Considering how cheap RAM is these days, why not just buy the right stuff? Besides, what good is the Acer with no RAM?

The Acer would be no good without the ram, but I won't be using it either. Although the RAM would run slower, would the overall computer speed increase due to extra 4 gb?

Okay, last question. I can't buy the RAM you linked because I live in Norway.

Will this work?
APACER Memory Retail 4GB DDR3 1333MHz PC10600 Single Module (1x4096)

Also, if I want to upgrade to 12gb of RAM, should I just buy one more of the above, or should I buy 2gb x2 so they can dual channel?

I'm pretty clueless here, nice if you could enlighten me.

First make sure your new laptop has 4 memory slots, if not then you will have to replace your 2x2GB with 4x4GB to go from 4GB to 8GB. If you have 4 memory slots I would recommend adding pairs (2x2GB or 4x4GB) to keep the dual channel mode and the same speed for maximum performance.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
