Windows doesn't require you to install a driver for any Microsoft wireless mouse just to use the basic mouse features (point, click, scroll) because the driver is built in to Windows.
So it all hinges on whether or not the MacOS contains a driver for it (since it's not available to download as far as I know).
You can't damage anything by plugging it in - it will either work or it won't.
