Depends on the type of RAM,
are they both DDR or DDR2.

try one at a time, if you get a beep, its incompatible RAM.

yes it was not compatible ram. I didn't know what is DDR1 or DDR2? I am so keen to know computing terminology. and I want to troubleshoot my pc by own. so I have joined one online computer training course. I feel it would be quite easy to fix computer problem. Thanks for your valuable reply.
