How about using proper english here. I don't text and the abbreviations are annoying.

You CAN use both IDE and SATA drives. You may need to install SATA drivers while in WinXP in order to get the SATA controllers to work correctly.

As far as the safely remove Icon goes, that is necassary because eSATA is available and removable just like USB. If you optimize for quick removal you can get rid of the safely remove stuff but you will take a major hit on performance.

How about you just pay attention to what you are removing. What wouold you do when using both a USB external and a flash drive?

Don't act like jerk then.

You think you're clever, but it's just a little kid way of trying to get attention.

They will work -- I have two SATA devices (optical & HDD) in this machine, in addition to usual IDE devices like another HDD; floppy; zip & another optical drive ... and they all work fine.

Also, virtually every recent motherboard has the option to run SATA devices in IDE mode, thus eliminating the need to manually install separate drivers for the SATA controllers ... check your BIOS for how/where to enable that feature.

What ? What a shame that a interesting question ,became filled with so much junk both from the originial post and some of the replies. Personal insults in a PC forum are about as useful as a prank phone calls, everyone involved is just wasting time !

Nick

The concept here is to not bite the hand that feeds you.

I did not blow off the OP but did admonish them for the poorly written question. There is no excuse to use text abbreviation in this forum.

If you are too lazy to type complete words and sentences then how can you expect someone to take THEIR time and effort to respond. IMO the proper response from the OP would have been some sort of apology. Instead I was criticized for using proper English.

This poster is not brand new here either.

I don't know exactly what you hoped to accomplish with this response.
