Reply: (edit)You can try to use a USB HDD but it may not work well with your laptop. Your USB is probably not USB 2.0. There are cards for USB 2.0 but I don't know if they will function well at 200MHz and 48MB RAM.

Reply: (edit)I'm not familiar with this laptop, only suggestion is to search some, including eBay. The older Thinkpads, for example, had a little "cable" about 1/2 inch long that adapted the hdd to the connector in the laptop, and the whole thing fit in the end of the caddy. (Old 360xx, 755xx) The newer ones I've owned (380XD, 600X0 don't use this--the "caddy" is just a little shim, and the drive plugs directly into the laptop board.

Reply: (edit)Hi, Look for a USB to IDE adaptor such as this. http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=35057&TabID=1&source=15&WorldID=&doy=24m4 Comes with its own PSU, which plugs into the rear of the IDE device hard disk or optical disk, zip or even LS120 and has a flying lead from th eMolex plug to power th eadapter. Identical devices are widely available. Also backwards compatible with USB 1 Comes with software for Win 98 upwards Haven't used the one I have since yesterday, when I partitioned and formated a warranty replacement Maxor drive before installation in a different pc. hth Ceri
