If it can support 160GB, it can support 640GB.

If the 160GB is the original drive then jam is correct. If it has been added in then maybe not. Watch the POST screens at start up to verify the 160 is being properly identified by both the model and the FULL drive capacity. If it is then you are good to go with MOST SATA II hard drives. There are a few that are not backward compatible to SATA I speeds, which your controllers may be.
