Can a 400 FSB mobo run a 533 FSB p4?
My motherboard has a max FSB of 400. Can I run a 533 P4 on there? I mean does it lower down ot 400?
It sounds like you have a AMD motherboard and not a P4 motherboard. Newer boards these days if there P4 [Socket 468] will support 800FSB and if there AMD they will support 400FSB [Socket A]. What model Motherboard do you? Is it for a Intel or a AMD CPU.

you can run your 533MHz FSB CPU on your motherboard, however it will not perform at its default speed. You may experience your computer reporting that your CPU is running at a lower frequency than what is intended to, either at bootup screen, or wherever. Try getting a 533+MHz FSB supporting motherboard. Oh, and make sure your CPU is an AMD brand, Pentium 4 CPUs cost much more than the equivilent Athlon XP CPUs, and the Athlon XPs perform sometimes at greater speeds than the P4s.
