Campatible Laptop Keyboard Multiple Choices

Specs: windows 7, 2gb
So I am replacing a keyboard on this laptop for someone. I didn't get far with the Model number on the back of the Laptop, MSI MS-16G5. The model number was pulling up a bunch of different MSI Laptops. So then I pulled the Keyboard off.

I was able to find an exact match for the S/N: V111922AK1 US.

What I am wondering though is, this following post lists three different Keyboard Serial Numbers. Does this mean all three of these keyboards are compatible? I wonder this because if I can find one of the three that ships from the US then I don't have to wait a month to get one of the exact SN from China. Please help as soon as you can, thank you much.

Serial Numbers are not a reliable method of matching parts

Part Numbers are what you should be looking at.

The only difference I can see is in one the cable is folded and in the other it's straight but could be folded if necessary.

The compatible numbers should mean any one will work in your laptop but if you have doubts you should contact the seller and see if they can provide additional pictures. Also, with ebay you can usually return an item if it's not compatible. I've had to return a couple items and they provided a print-out label and free return shipping.

I had that issue with a laptop once and got the wrong keyboard although it was listed as one for the laptop model. In that case the cabling on the bottom was different which I would have noticed if I'd pulled the old one out prior to getting the new one. I was going by the laptop model and not the keyboard model.

I suggest you do try to get one from the states but if you have to get one from China I've found that sometimes they ship amazingly quick--sometimes it only takes a week to get here.

-"Serial Numbers are not a reliable method of matching parts

I have not seen a Parts number on any keyboard I found.

-"if you have doubts you should contact the seller and see if they can provide additional pictures"

I contacted the seller and they replied with... "possibly not work in your laptop"

"if you have to get one from China I've found that sometimes they ship amazingly quick"

I have ordered from China for 15 years and I have never received anything sooner then 20 days.

-"with ebay you can usually return an item if it's not compatible."

Ah well thanks for the help, I guess I will order one of the 3 that ship from the US and hope it works. Yes, Ebay Sellers allow returning wrong parts but after restock fees and return shipping, its almost a waste of money.
