Hello.
I am buying a new hard drive for my sony laptop because the factory one crashed and it does not work anymore. The factory one was a seagate momentus.
I am planning to buy a no-brand hard drive from an online hard drive store for $60. Will I encounter any performance or reliability problems with this no-brand hard drive??? Or should I just pay $180 for a replacement seagate momentus???

If you read your question like your best friend asked it of you, I think the answer is obvious.
The only way this question can be answered is AFTER you purchase and USE the NO-Name HDD. Then you can come back and tell us all about it. However it won't mean anything because it's a NO-Name HDD that can't be identified, evaluated or tracked.

There is nothing to learn from someone who already agrees with you.

Why would you buy a no-name brand when you can get a Seagate or Western Digital at newegg.com for about $60?
