Comment:

I currently own a Dell 19'' CRT monitor, I want to upgrade. I was thinking of a 22'' widescreen monitor but I know very little about LCD monitors (since I have never had one). I have a DVI output on my video card, I understand that it is better than the blue VGA port.

Anyways I was looking at some and it seems 5ms response time is most common (what ever that means). I have a Dell Computer and I would like to have a monitor that matches, so I was thinking of a Dell monitor. But I heard Samsung is better, So what do you think is better a Samsung or Dell monitor (or any other brand).

Thank-You for your help

I believe that Dell uses Samsung panels in a few of their monitors.

Personally, if I had to choose between Dell and Samsung, I'd pick the Sammy.

If you're willing to settle for a smaller screen, go to BestBuy early tomorrow...they're gonna have THIS Acer 19" widescreen on sale for $120. If you pricematch at Circuit City, you *should* be able to get it for $112.

Either that or ASUS!

"If asked to mark the most interesting models in this review from the customer’s point of view, I would single out the ASUS VW222u and the Samsung SyncMaster 2232BW. The former offers an unusual combination of a fast matrix and an almost total lack of RTC-provoked visual artifacts. Surprised as I am, I can even forgive ASUS the sloppy implementation of Splendid technology and call the VW222u one of the leaders of today’s tests.

The SyncMaster 2232BW, on the contrary, set no records, but proved to be one of the best products I tested in the total of its characteristics. It is actually free from drawbacks (for its class and its price, of course). Thanks to that, it takes a place on the podium next to the model from ASUS.

From a technical viewpoint, the Samsung SyncMaster 225UW is most original, coming not only with integrated speakers and microphone but also with an integrated sound card. The high price of this product makes the user’s choice not so obvious, though."

Good catch jam! All fixed now.

I've been spending too much time lately on news sites - thanks to the unending gaffes from the three stooges in the political arena.
