Okie dokie, I've decided to finally retire the old athlon slot A, and build my first new computer in about 2 or so years, so this may sound like a dumb question, but I was wondering if anybody could tell me this...
I'm looking to buy an athlon XP 2800+ processor which has a FSB speed of 333Mhz, but the motherboard I am looking to purchase(a gigabyte GA-7NNXP) supports DDR400 RAM.
Here's my question...will the DRR400 be compatibible with 333MHZ bus of the athlon, and if it does work would it be pointless because the ram would have to adjust it's clock to the processor bus speed?
I appreciate any clarification that anyone can give me on the subject. Thanks!

No worries... that chipset is capable of running your FSB at 166/333Mhz while running the memory bus at 200/400Mhz.

F.Y.I., "new" computers have a FSB of 800mhz.
Depending on how severely you use the computer, buying better this time might mean you won't need a new computer every two years...
Sorry for being an a$$hole. To make up for it I'll say something nice: Congradulations on the multi-boot system; it's the only way to go. I boot several OSes too, including Windows, Linux, BeOS, and QNX.
Best Luck with the new machine!
Bob
