My computer was resetting the display to 800x600 each time I restarted, so I went in and changed the settings a couple of times and restarted a couple of times in a row to see if it worked... about the 4th time my computer quit. It doesn't even bring up anything, just runs the fans and stuff for a second or two and then just stops...

I opened up the computer and took out everything and I have a burnt smell coming from around the memory slot, although it isn't strong, and my memory as well as the slots look in good condition...

is my MoBo fried? PSU? CPU? MEMORY? other?
Thanks for any help?

Yah, a burning smell is normally a sign of death. If
it's coming from the motherboard itself, and not the
PSU or the DIMMS, it's probably the MoBo. The
burning smell is from circutry (sp). My guess is that
CPU is fine, as long as the MoBo didn't fry from you
overclocking the board. The memory might have
gone, but it'd be best to check.
