Comment:
Hello All,
recently i've got data CD that was burnt on IBM laptop.
however, when i tried to opened it in 2 desktop computers, it didn't recognize the files that was written into it. all i could see on disk properties is that there are currently 0 used bytes and 0 avaiable bytes.
however, when i tried to open it with another IBM laptop (which probably has same CD writer) it works perfectly and i could access all the files. so, i tried to finalize it on the laptop NERO program, but i it is still unrecognizable by the other desktop computer.
perhaps i did something wrong, i appreciate your help guys.
Try using a laser lens cleaning CD in the drive that isn't reading the CD properly.
All CD and DVD (optical) drives are sensitive to some degree as to which media you use in them - which types of burnable disks and which brands - some are a lot more picky about which media you use than others. If the burnable CD is one the drive doesn't get along with, it may not be able to read it properly. If the type of media is one the drive isn't capable of reading, of course, it can't read it properly, or maybe can't read it at all. Commonly, usually it is a lot less likely for there to be a problem reading a CD-R made in another burner drive, but it's quite common for CD-RW CDs made in another drive to not be read properly. If you have a problem with a CD-R, try burning it again at a slower speed, or better still, the slowest speed, rather than at the default max speed.
