Comment: I recently purchased a new case the scorpio 868 and put my iwill k7s3 which worked with my old case into the scorpio. I connected everything correct according to the manual but when i hit the power switch the fans ran for about 2-3 seconds then stopped. After trying to power on a i unplugged everything but ram and video card and i started to get a burning smell from the motherboard. I looked and saw there was a thing burn near the front panel connectors. I purchased a new F**king motherobard hooked it all up slowly and correfctly and tried to power again with jsut ram and got the same thing with the burning. I am led to belive that it is the psu but im not sure becuase the case came with its own psu and it worked in my older case.

Reply: (edit)It's usually best to power up the first time with the mobo out of the case. Place the board on top of the static free bag that it came in, being careful that nothing touches it that shouldn't. I guess this advice is a bit late for you, unfortunately. As noted above, you probaby shorted something to the case with a standoff. There are usually one or two places for the board to be grounded. All the other holes should NOT be grounded. The manual never tells tells you anything about that, tho. If you can find them, use nylon/plastic standoffs except for where you actually need a ground to the case. Tough luck this time, but better luck next time. HTH :)
