Comment: Im fixing a computer for my friend, and when i fired the computer up, i noticed a smell coming from the CPU.. a burning metal type smell.. so i figuar i burned out the CPU, now if i burned out the CPU, will this have damaged the motherboard also?

Reply: (edit)Ya, I had a ECS k7s5a mobo and the caps around the CPU started to leak and my system started to crash alot. It also smelled really BAD. So I went to me local Radio Shack and bought some new caps for it and now it works perfect again. If you dont catch it rate away they could blow up and run the mobo and other components.
