Thanks for your reply but how many movies can I burn on a single DVD? Can I do it with the software u mentioned? Can I burn only avi movies or other formats also?
Also I have Nero 8 installed but I am not able to burn avi files through it.

Yes u can do with the software i mentioned. Nero 8 can burn avi movies and other formats (use nero xpress) and burn them as data (it allow to mix formats). A single dvd 4.7gb can carry 5-6 movies, i assume 700mb single movie.

Assuming you meant DVD, not CD....if you want to keep them as .AVI's, just burn as a data disc. As kuwese pointed out, you should be able to fit 5-6 videos on a single DVD. They will NOT be playable on a standard DVD player though, unless the player supports DivX or DivX Ultra.

I use DeepBurner for creating discs with multiple AVI's:

If you want to convert the AVI files to be compatible with standard DVD players, you *should* be able to get 2 videos per DVD. Re-encoding for DVD playback can take hours though, depending on your system specs. For that I use ConvertXtoDVD.

Hi kuwese,

As you mentioned that a single dvd can carry 5-6 movies, so if I use Nero Express & burn multiple movies using the Data DVD option, can I view this DVD on my Sony DVD player?

Hi Jam,

I have downloaded Xilisoft AVI to DVD converter since I want to play the movies on my standard DVD player. I selected 2 movies (700MB approx) to download but it seems that only one movie can be burned on to the DVD as the recording capacity goes beyond the disks capacity.

Is there a way to fit maximum number of movies on a 4.7GB DVD which can be played on normal DVD player?
