Hi there, Im after some help in building a new pc.

Stuff im carrying over

- sata and ide HDD
- CD-rom and DVD burner

I dont have a lot to spend on it atm so I want to try and keep it below the $1k mark. I dont need any external devices, just m/b, cpu, gpu and case. So far I have this.

New comp

Intel e6400 - 319
2G Kit(2x1G) A-DATA 800 - 225
asus p5b - 169
gigabyte 7600gt - 176
sonata II - 185

total - $1074

Is there anything I should specifically look for in a motherboard? They all seem much the same and I dont want SLI.

I dont mind getting a cheap graphics card cause I can always upgrade that later on.

Any advice would be great.

Asus P4P800S mb
P4 2.4Ghz 800Mhz
1Gb DDR3200 Ram
Gigabyte 6600GT 128mb

Where are you coming up with these prices? If you're not from the US, it would help to know that. If you are from the US, have a look at these prices from newegg.com:

E6300 - $183
E6400 - $221

ASUS P5B - $120 (there are other P965 based boards that are even cheaper)

EVGA GeForce 7600GT 256MB - $110

2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2-800 - $165 (give or take)

Sonata II case - $100
