Hi all,
Im going to be building a computer and i need to know which components work the best together. I think im going to get an AMD 2700+ maybe higher. Im definately getting an AMD and i am looking at Gigabyte mobo's. I saw the specs for the GA7NNXP. It seems pretty good and i would pay out the ass for a good mobo. The question is, would this be the best gigabyte i could buy for an AMD? Im also looking into getting a Zalman Flower heatsink and it doesnt look like this will fit onto this mobo, does anyone know which combo would work well?

I personally shoot for stability over "clockability".
My choice would be the Asus boards with the Nforce and NforceII chipsets.
If you buy high end parts, a reasonable number of good fans, a good power supply and keep the clock where it belongs, you will have a fast and stable machine without the need for fancy cooling rigs that may or may not work with your parts.
Would love to price some out for you at your Computing.net discount, drop me line off list.

Hey,
Yeah i was thinking about a gigabyte with a Nforce, but im not sure which would be the best. Im not sure, but i prefer Gigabyte for some reason as ive read about the capacitors blowing on asus and abit boards. Which Gbyte Nforce would be the best? I am mainly looking for a good mobo, at the minute im stuck with a generic piece of crap with a 1ghz Athlon. I've been reading so many mixed opinions about everything and im quite confused to say the least. Im not too worried about prices as im gonna build it over time. Im thinking i may get a vaopchill instead of fan cooling :o)
