Hey Everybody,

I have decided that I want to get a new PC but I am sick of HP and their nonsense and I don't want to take a risk buying another clunker, so I have decided to build the PC myself. This way I can pick out all the hardware myself.

My question: I'm pretty good with hardware but have never tried to build a PC from scratch before. Is there a good website that might have detailed instructions in case i get stuck?? I have installed many things in PCs before, but never a motherboard.

Tips I should know??

Here are the specs of what I want to build, maybe you could let me know what you think?

Motherboard: Not psitive yet, but def. intel chipset with pentium 4 2.5 ghz or better with 8x agp support and usb 2.0.
160 7200rpm HDD
geforce fx 5900 Ultra
Turtle beach Santa Cruz sound card
1024 gig DDR333 Ram
Plextor 48X Cd-Burner
DVD Rom
Windows 2000 Pro (decided to dump the crapiness of XP)

Your motherboard no matter what brand will come with a manual and will show you very thing from putting the motherboard in to the pc 2 playing around in BIOS. it shows you what goes where on that certain motherboard, how to install your CPU, putting in the RAM, what IDE port is which, which jummper goes where, how to install CPU fan. well you get the idea almost very thing. and if you get stuck i am sure some of us at this forum could help you out.

hope this helps

A good place to shop online is: Newegg.com. They have excellent prices and often times free Fed Ex shipping. My packages arrive on the third day, and that's from the West coast to the East coast where I live. I highly recommend them.
