I have serviced a pc with Trojans,adware,etc.. The owner said it had a Bsod, But when I checked it out it scanned on startup and then I entered by password at login, But I found no Bsod. Cleaned pc of viruses and gave back. He then said, when he started it up after login he got a Bsod. I then asked him about any other devices that he has connected he then said a scan/printer/fax by usb.
I asked him to try starting with out the device connected... he has'nt got back
My Question is would this cause a Bsod? I don't know the codes for the stop error...

Have you noticed that people when trying to fix a pc always seem to start by deleting stuff? Then they bring it to you.

Thanks jam & world I also notice that in the virus scan it gave a "host" that had been removed.
Could this be a part of the reason that at startup the usb devices creates bsod?
jam I now I should have got the codes, but he couldn't tell me and I couldn't product them.
I will find out more tomorrow, Thanks

Don't take this the wrong way but I see an awful lot of posts from you. Are you sure you should be working for clients?

Check the Device Manager for problems. Also consider removing the USB drivers and letting windows reinstall them.

There are no problems within Device Manager but it does seem to be a problem with the usb scanner/printer/fax. Did remove usb devices and let windows reinstall them but didn't help. Install new printer only device and all is well.
All I asked was has any one else seen this before.
None taking OtheHill We all at some time have ask a question that We do'nt know the answer too and I see you give no answer to the question.
