Brown and Blue RAM slots?

Just a general question. Why the brown and blue ram slots on the motherboard? There are 2 of each. I just bought 2 more gigs of ddr2 and I need to know if it matters which slot I choose for the new RAM.

Then go to the manufacturer's website & download a copy.
The different colors are for the different channels. More than likely, brown is one channel, blue is another, so to enable dual channel mode, you'll need either one brown/one blue or two brown/two blue. If you install only one stick or three sticks, it will force the RAM to run in single channel mode.

Too add to jam's response you usually need to use matched pairs of RAM. So if you have 2 - 512MB & 2 - 1GB sticks you should use the 512 pair on one channel and the 1GB pair on the other.
