Hi, today I installed a new video card (Geforce 6600) on my computer, but unfortunately I had no extra power connector, so I unplugged the power for the cd and dvd drive to use the video card, everything had worked fine.

When I restarted, during the hardware check in the BIOS it froze while checking the primary slave and froze, I went into my BIOS and disabled my second hard drive temporarily, but when I went to auto detect it to add it back in, everything went fine, I saved the settings, but when I rebooted, the hardware check showed no signs of the second hard drive. I opened up my computer to check if anything was loose, but it was securely fit.

Is my hard drive broken or is it having compatibility problems?

WinXP seems to have a habit of losing drives. I don't have a fix, but would suggest going to Disk Management to see what it says about the drive. You 'might' be able to restore it by removing it and rebooting.
