Can somebody tell me why I keep breaking
Power Supplies?

My first p/s was a 400wat i had it for 3
months then one day i tryed turning on my
comp and there was no power, the p/s was
completely dead.

My secound p/s was a 500wat i had it for 6
and a half months the same thing happened.
The p/s was dead, i don't think there was
any power outs that night so why dose this
happen?

do you have a good surge protected power bar as you might be getting power surges thru receptacle also check voltage at receptacle as it might be too high or low

Are you getting decent power supplies or cheap junk? What brand(s) did you buy? What are the specs (amperage on the +3.3v, +5v, +12v)? If you held one in your hand, would you say it was light or heavy?

Asus A7N8X-X
1800+ @8x210mhz

Ti4200/8X 128mb

I would recommend investing in a small APC UPS unit. Even a small 350 unit would be good enough. They have good power protection in them.

Second solution would be to get a surge protected power bar as recommended, but when you turn your system off, also turn the power off at the switch on the power bar.
