Okay, I just got my computer parts to put together my new computer and I've got it all together and I've double checked everything that I can think of that might be causing the problem and it is still not working. I've got no OS on it yet, I was trying to change some of the BIOS settings and make sure everything is up and running for when I can go pick up my OS (I feel dumb, I didn't think to order one when I ordered the parts... I just hope I can find XP because I really don't want Vista). Anyway, it starts up all lovely like and says "Press Delete to enter BIOS setup." I press delete and it tells me, "Entering BIOS setup..." and then it just goes dead. The lights go off, the fans stop running and the monitor tells me it's not receiving a signal. Needless to say, I'm a bit flustered, and I've got no idea how to fix it.

This is what's in my computer:

MB ASUS M2N32-SLI DLX WIFI AM2 - Qty=1
MEM 512M|G.SK F2-6400CL4S-512PK R - Qty=4
HD 500G|ST 7K 32M SATA2 ST3500320AS - Qty=1
VGA XFX PVT84JUDF3 8600GT 256MB R - Qty=2
PSU ROSEWILL|RX950-S-B RT - Qty=1
CPU AMD|A64 X2 6400+ 3.2G AM2 2M R - Qty=1
COMBO LITE-ON|DH-52C2P-08 BK R - Qty=1

Right now the combo drive is not in because I pulled it to see if that was what was causing the problem, but apparently it wasn't...

Any help you can give is greatly appreciated!

I would recheck the cpu-heatsink-fan
It sound like it's getting to hot.
Use thermal compound.

You should ALWAYS benchtest a board before installing it in a case & connecting all the drives, etc.

I'm a little confused by your config. For instance...why did you get 4 x 512MB instead of 2 x 1GB? Why did you get 2 x 8600GT instead of a single decent video card? And why did you buy such an overpriced PSU?

Anyhow, double check the HSF installation as suggested by beckr1. Also, take out one of the video cards & 3 sticks of RAM...you can put them back in later. Unplug the mouse, but leave the keyboard connected. Now try to access the BIOS. If you get in, immediately go to the PC Health section & monitor the CPU temps for a few minutes. If all is well, configure the BIOS settings as you see fit, then shutdown & install all your RAM (leave the mouse & 2nd video disconnected). Do you have a floppy drive? If not, you should. Test your RAM with memtest86 or memtest86+...if no errors are found, install the rest of your hardware & see if it'll boot without shutting down.
