I'm looking into buying some wireless networking equipment. I'm just not sure about a couple of the brands out there. The four brands I am looking at are Trendnet, Linksys, D-Link, and Netgear. I know that Linksys is probably the best of these four, but they are a little more expensive than the others. What I need is a wireless router and a wireless adapter for a Laptop.

After exhausting all other alternatives, options and hopes...PANIC!

I picked up a D-Link AirPlusG (DI-524) the last time it was on sale & have had no problems with it. I have it setup in my living room which is in the front of my house. I have no prob connecting with my notebook anywhere in the house. I also use a USB wireless adapter in the basement & it always gets a good signal, & I have another PC on the 2nd floor in the extreme rear of the house (I have an old city house which is very long) & I get a decent signal using a PCI adapter.

D-Link is currently running a rebate promotion too.

I use Linksys and Netgear.

I had trouble with D-Link NIC cards ... but that was a long time ago.

I use Netgear for everything, the wireless firewall router, plug-in range extender and notebook adapter.

There is only one satisfying way to boot a computer.

I also have a D-Link Wireless router a DI-624+, although it took me about 6 months for me to get my belkin NIC to talk to it. It was extremely frustrating and I kept getting IP conflicts. But now it is going I am happy with it, I think the problems were mainly due to the fact I had no experience with wireless networking. The best brands I think are Linksys, D-Link, and Netgear. You can get packages where you get both a wireless router and a laptop wireless network card, and they are pretty easy to set up. Most of the bundles I have seen are D-Link.
