Bought new video card

June 1, 2012 at 12:50:03
Specs: Windows XP
Yes I have a DC7100 hp, and its having driver issues. I contacted the person that I had bought it from recently and they suggested a new video card. I bought the Nvidia GeForce 8400GS. But upon the delivery the cords I have for my monitor a hp pavilion f1503 will dont fit this new card. I have a vga cord, and it looks like this is a DVI? Where can I buy a cord that will allow me to use this card?

You need to get a DVI to VGA adapter. Should have came with the card.

"I have a DC7100 hp, and its having driver issues"

I sure hope you didn't pay much because it's a pretty outdated system. And why would you buy a video card due to "driver issues"? It looks like there are 3 versions of the dc7100. Only the minitower will accept a full size card. Here's the specs:

Can you return the card & exchange it for one that does have a VGA port rather than using an adapter?

No I didn't pay much for either of them $41 for the DC7100, and 20 for the video card.
And no and adaptor cable did not come with it. Under normal usage the computer works fine, its only when I'm playing games that I have any driver issues. ie... facebook, grand fantasia *which actually does play for anywhere between 30 mins to several hours before erroring*, and oblivion which wont work period without a 256 enabled card. hence the cheap upgrade.
