Hi,
If I store the boot image in a USB device (e.g. USB portable hard disk), can I boot my PC from there? Is it possible?

I have a bytestor 256mb usb flash drive. If I jsut plug it in it works fine. But it included soem software which you could put a passwrod on the drive and also CREATE A BOOT IMAGE.
So, if your motheboard bios supports it, yes, it is possible. Some versions of linux can be booted form a usb flash drive as opposed to a live cd.
Hope this helps. Good luck Aaron

Easy to install and use. You can get it from www.bootitng.com for about $35 (US)
