Can it be done? It recognises the card as rtemoval drive g, and it formats it, scandisks it and everything! This I am guessing would be the same as using a USB hard drive.
SO, if I went and got a 256 meg flash media card, could I use that to install windows 98 on? And then would windows 98 run faster?
I am getting a little excited at the prospect of this!!!!!!!!!
I am gopnna go and try it now. I got 32 meg, so should be able to at least install a game on it.
Will report back!

Ok, well. Done some reaserch. Daytona USA runs perfectly well from the USB card, through the smart media card (loaded all data files onto it and ran it.
It's an old game though.
FOund out, that USB 2.0 has a data throughput of roughly 50 meg a second! Old USB had only 1 meg a second!
So. Question is, what is the max speed smart media can work at, and if it IS 50 meg per second, then CRAP! I am going to go and find me a 512 meg smart media card to use as my video capture drive!
Ok. Checked pricewatch.com and 128 meg flash card is only $47.99!!!
Ok. Checked again. Smart media seems limited to 256 meg. but compact flash is up to 512!
Anyone got some that they can test, to see if this theory works?
Will post a new question me thinks.
